About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a creative and passionate Remote Social Media Intern to join our team and help us expand our reach and engagement on various social media platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for a psychology student or recent graduate with a flair for design and content creation to make a meaningful contribution to mental health awareness from the comfort of their own workspace. You will work closely with our team virtually to develop engaging visuals and informative content that resonates with our audience and aligns with our mission, including raising awareness about our accessibility programs.

Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Develop engaging and informative social media content (text, images, short videos, infographics) related to mental health topics, self-care, well-being, and our commitment to affordability and accessibility, including the pro-bono and pay-what-you-can program.

• Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics and templates for social media posts, stories, and other digital materials using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark).

• Social Media Management: Assist in scheduling and posting content across various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).

• Audience Engagement: Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages in a professional and empathetic manner, and foster community engagement, including inquiries about our accessibility programs.

• Research & Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, platform updates, and relevant mental health topics to inform content strategy, ensuring alignment with our values of affordability and accessibility.

• Virtual Collaboration: Work closely with the team through online communication tools (e.g., video conferencing, email, project management software) to brainstorm ideas, align content with overall marketing goals, and ensure brand consistency, particularly in messaging around accessibility.

• Performance Tracking: Assist in monitoring social media analytics and providing insights on content performance, including engagement with content related to our accessibility initiatives.​​​​​​

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Psychology (preferred), Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.

• A strong interest in mental health and a genuine desire to promote well-being and increase access to mental health services.

• Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively online and with sensitivity to the topic of accessibility.

• Creativity and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.

• Familiarity with various social media platforms and their best practices.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay connected and responsive online.

• A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow with a startup that prioritizes making mental health care accessible to all.

 

​Bonus Points:

• Experience managing social media accounts for organizations or personal projects, especially those with a focus on social impact or accessibility.

• Basic video editing skills.

• Understanding of social media analytics and reporting.

Compensation:

₹3,500 - ₹5,000 per month (commensurate with experience and skills), with opportunities for increased compensation as Synapse Mental Wellbeing grows.

This is a valuable opportunity for an individual with a passion for search engine optimization to gain hands-on experience in website optimization and technical SEO from a remote setting. You will work closely with our team virtually to implement strategies that enhance our online discoverability and reach, ensuring that information about our accessibility programs is easily found.

Responsibilities:

• Remote Website Analysis: Conduct website audits remotely to identify areas for SEO improvement, including site structure, content, and technical elements, with a focus on ensuring information about affordability and accessibility is prominent.

• Keyword Research: Assist in identifying relevant keywords and search terms that our target audience uses, including those related to affordable therapy, pro-bono services, and pay-what-you-can options.

• Remote On-Page Optimization: Implement on-page optimization strategies remotely, including optimizing meta descriptions, title tags, headings, and content for target keywords, ensuring clear messaging about our commitment to accessibility.

• Schema Markup Implementation: Learn and implement schema structured markup to enhance search engine understanding of our website content, including information about our pro-bono and pay-what-you-can program.

• Remote Technical SEO: Assist in identifying and resolving technical SEO issues remotely, such as crawl errors, broken links, and site speed optimization, ensuring a user-friendly experience for individuals seeking accessible mental health care.

• Link Building: Support efforts to build high-quality backlinks from reputable sources, potentially including organizations that promote affordable mental health services.

• Content Optimization: Provide recommendations for optimizing existing website content for SEO, ensuring that our accessibility initiatives are clearly communicated.

• Performance Monitoring: Assist in tracking and reporting on website traffic, keyword rankings, and other SEO performance metrics using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console), paying attention to traffic from searches related to affordable mental health care.

• Virtual Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with the team through online channels.

• Staying Updated: Keep abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices, particularly those related to optimizing for social impact and accessibility.

 

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Psychology (preferred) Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

• A strong interest in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and how websites rank in search results, with an understanding of how SEO can increase access to important resources.

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and website structure is a plus.

• Familiarity with SEO tools and concepts (e.g., keyword research, link building).

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and techniques in a remote environment.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and stay focused in a remote setting.

• A proactive and eager attitude to contribute to a growing startup that prioritizes making mental health care accessible to all.
